When a person first tries drugs, they may enjoy their experience. This pleasant or “fun” sensation may lead to them trying LSD or other drugs again. This is when drug use starts to become a problem.
Regular drug users will find that their body becomes reliant on drugs. If they stop taking drugs, they will experience symptoms of withdrawal. Some of these symptoms are:

In short, addiction is when an a person needs or uses drugs so much that it interferes with their everyday life. Because addicts risk the things they love the most (work, family, friends), it is essential to get treatment.
The first step of treatment is getting clean. Drug users will either go cold turkey or wean themselves off of drugs slowly. It is important to be aware that there is a prescription medication which is given to drug addicts in recovery.
This medication gives the body what it needs to stop withdrawal symptoms without contributing to the addiction. In order to get a prescription, the addict will have to see a doctor or join an inpatient program.
There are several treatment options addicts can choose from. The best one is inpatient treatment. Although it is expensive, it is the most effective choice.
